So our “new cat socializing” phase is progressing. We decided to delay the introducing Zuli to Doofie until Zuli got a “clean bill of health” from our vet. I was unnecessarily fussing about Feline Leukemia because Zuli’s visit to the vet indicated she was “good to go.” She was a real angel. Too bad her vet-visit behavior hasn’t carried its way to home as she is still hissing on a fairly frequent basis. We’re cutting her some slack though… she’s had a tough life. Hopefully, the growling and hissing will subside. Did I mention we live with the “perfect” cat? Doofie has been amazing! She chirps when Zuli growls. I can tell Doofie really wants to bond with Zuli so I have hopes it may eventually happen. Anyway, to our title: New Use For Cans. The vet-tech recommended using aluminum cans with coins in them as a method to startle and separate fighting cats instead of putting ourselves at risk by reaching to separate them, especially as my husband is taking a blood-thinner. So now, we have a Diet Coke and Budweiser beer cans scattered throughout the house, ready for instant action if or when the occasion of battle arises. I hope not, but we’ll see!!
